Discovery Science – Discovery Point

Celebrate 100 Years of RRS Discovery with a new exhibition that celebrates a century of exploration and innovation embodied by these iconic research ships, and the people on board who continue to push the boundaries of ocean science.

Also enjoy stalls from the Scottish Association for Marine Science and St Andrews School of Biology and Sea Mammal Research Unit.

Scottish Association for Marine Science – Sunday 15 and Monday 16 in the 100 years of RRS Discovery gallery – the display will introduce the what, where, and why of ocean currents and explore different ways how we measure them. Using their investigations, visitors will be challenged to deduce where beloved or valuable items lost over the side of a ferry or boat might wash up.

St Andrews School of Biology and Sea Mammal Research Unit. – Friday 13, Saturday 14, and Sunday 15 –  Students from St Andrews University School of Biology share their experiences of Antarctica, gathering scientific information about the wildlife and the environment
