Can I book for less than 10 or more than 20 people?
We cannot book a party for less than 10 partygoers. If you’ve booked for 10 and someone can’t attend on the day – we will still hold the party but you will have to pay for 10 attendees.
We usually cannot allow bookings for more than 20 people but if you have extenuating circumstances, please get in contact and we will review on a case-by-case basis.
Can I bring decorations and/or a cake?
Please do bring a cake as we do not provide this. We can supply candles, matches and a knife. Feel free to bring your own candles but not sparkler candles or fountain candles as these can set off our fire alarms.
We will decorate the party room to the party theme but feel free to bring your own extra decorations.
Will there be time for party games?
Our birthday parties are jam packed with activities so there will be no time for additional party games.
What are the contents of the party bags?
The contents of the party bags depends on the theme of the party. Please see photographs below of party bag contents.
Can we extend the party time or do a different time?
Due to the fact we run multiple parties in a day and other activities in the centre, we cannot host parties outside of the allotted times of 10:30am-12:00pm; 12:30pm-2:00pm and 3:00pm-4:30pm.
There are people coming to the party who have dietary requirements, what should I do?
Let us know as soon as possible and in most cases we will be able to cater for this. We can also cater parties to be fully vegan, vegetarian etc.
Our food is prepared in our café and we are careful about cross contamination. However, we cannot guarantee our food is completely allergen free. If there is a partygoer with severe or complex allergies, they are more than welcome to bring their own food.
What party food do you supply?
We supply cheese sandwiches, ham sandwiches, mini sausage rolls, fruit kebabs, crisps, biscuits, popcorn and juice. We can also supply ice cream at an additional £2 per child.
We do not supply a birthday cake so please bring your own.
If any partygoers have dietary requirements, please let us know as soon as possible and we should be able to cater for this.
Are we allowed more than 4 adults in the party?
We have a maximum of 4 adults in the workshop section of the party due to safety and space requirements of our party room. Extra adults are more than welcome to spend this time in our exhibition, as long as they’ve paid admission of £6.95, or in our café. They are also welcome to drop off their partygoer(s) as they will always be with at least 2 party adults and 2 of our trained and PVG-checked Science Communicators. If your party group has extenuating circumstances where you think you will need more than 4 adults with the group, please contact us and we will review this on a case-by-case basis.
Extra adults are welcome to join the party while they are visiting our exhibition as long as they pay admission of £6.95.
Why do you have age restrictions?
Our parties all involve activities which require some level of independence which is why we recommend them for those turning four and up. Our Soapy Science parties involve more components which is why we recommend this one specifically for those turning 6 and up.
