Repair & Maintenance Assistant

 

Contract: Fixed term 18-month, annualised hours

(Part time – 24 hours a week; 3-day week, days to be determined)

 

Dundee Science Centre is looking for a proactive, forward-thinking individual who enjoys a challenge as well as working as part of an ambitious team.

The post holder will be hands on, ensuring all exhibits on the exhibition floor are fully functioning.  You will be accountable for the operation, maintenance, repair, development and fabrication of Dundee Science Centre electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical exhibits and equipment.  The role requires manual handling and physical activity daily.

You will support the Facilities & Safety Procedures Lead to ensure all health and safety aspects are adhered to.

Main duties will include performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, repairing, and replacing components to keep exhibitions operational, troubleshoot and address facility-related issues, such as plumbing, electrical and security systems, manage inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for facility maintenance and exhibition upkeep, provide technical support and training to staff members on operating and troubleshooting exhibition components as well as assisting the team with the transferring of equipment to and from outreach venues by driving the DSC van, to name a few.

You will be an advocate for Inclusion & Diversity, supporting the development of DSC’s culture of inclusion for our team and visitors.

 

We are looking for someone with a positive, resourceful, and confident nature with the ability to work independently and play a key role across the organisation.

 

You will have the required qualifications and or relevant experience, excellent communication and organisation skills and more importantly have a can-do attitude.

 

You will work flexibly within the Dundee Science Centre team.

 

Salary Range: £23,500 – £24,500 (pro rata)
