Dundee Science Centre runs a series of STEM engagement clubs to help bring the joys of science learning to children from across the community .
Each week of the school holidays, 20 children get the opportunity to experience fun-filled days of action and STEM activity facilitated by our PVG certified Team.
Children will love taking part in our interactive shows and workshops and get creative in our Maker's Lab - crafting their own STEM-related arts activity.
Spaces available through referrals only.
What To Expect
Each day will run from 9-5 pm. If you wish to request a place at breakfast club, please do so on the participant detail form.
Drop off/collection procedure
The meeting point for the session is inside the main entrance to Dundee Science Centre. The Dundee Science Centre team will be waiting at the meeting point 10 minutes prior to the advertised start time. We will return to the same point at the end of the session for collection. If your child has a coat, bag, or packed lunch this can be placed on the trolley upon arrival. Please do not allow your child to bring any valuables with them as Dundee Science Centre cannot be held liable for loss or damage.
Where can I park for drop off and pick up?
There are pay and display carparks at the front and rear of the Centre which are run by Dundee City Council. Dundee Science Centre will therefore issue you with a Car parking pass for each day that your child is attending the Club. Please note that the Car parking pass will only be valid from 9-9.30 am and 4.50 pm - 5.20 pm daily. Any parking outwith these times will be subject to standard car parking fees.
This is a public carpark and therefore parking spaces at any given time cannot be guaranteed. Failure to display a valid car parking pass could result in a parking fine and Dundee Science Centre will not be held liable for this
The majority of sessions will take place in the Centre, however, we will explore our outdoor exhibition area. Please ensure that your children have the following equipment with them on each day and that it is clearly marked with their names:
- Sun hat
- Sun cream
- Face mask - if they would prefer to wear their own.
- Medication - if you have stated in your participant form your child required any medication or any other item this must be brought with them and sealed in a bag with their name clearly stated and any instructions within the bag. This should be given to our team on arrival or if it needs to stay with the child then the team should be aware.
Lunch and Snacks
We will supply both lunch and snacks throughout the day for your child. You will receive a lunch order form at least 7 days before your child's designated week, where options will be given, and allergies can be noted and where possible catered for. If you would prefer to provide a pack lunch for your child, please do so.
Who will be responsible for running the STEM Clubs?
Our STEM Club will be run by the Science Communicator Team with the support of Dundee Science Centre Staff members. The team will welcome you and your children at the start of the day.
Behaviour and Expectations
Dundee Science Centre asks participants and their parents/carers to adhere to its Codes of Conduct to ensure the health, safety, and enjoyment of all participants. Failure to do so could result in the participant being excluded from the class/activity. Please read our Behaviour and Expectations document so that you are fully aware of these.
