Blast-off For Local Astotots!
As well as dressing up the space gibbon, toddlers will get the chance to design planets through messy play, launch paper rockets and enjoy a story-telling session about the first African American woman who went to space, Mae Jemison.
'AstroTots' will be held on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 August 2019.
Amanda Dobrowski, STEM Learning Officer said, "We're all fascinated by what's out there, and what life might be like in outer space so we can't wait to bring this topic to life for our younger visitors. Through lots of fun activities, we'll be encouraging them to question what's out there, how we might get there, and to realise there are other worlds to discover!"
Early Explorer events are open to both organised groups and the general public. Sessions will take place from 9:30-11am, 11:15am-12:45pm and 1pm-2:30pm on both dates. Cost per child is £4.75, with one adult free of charge. The price includes a healthy snack and time to explore the exhibition floor after the session. Siblings aged one to two years old can enjoy a snack for £2.50. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Pre-booking is essential. For more information and to secure a place, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone (01382) 228800.
