What is Dundee Science Festival?

Every November, Dundee Science Centre co-ordinates a two-week programme of events taking place in Dundee Science Centre and community hubs across Dundee. Founded in 2010, we aim to make science fun and accessible to inspire and excite children, teenagers and adults.

 

When is the next festival?

The next festival takes place Saturday 28 October until Sunday 12 November 2017 (TBC), with different events, exhibitions, activity days, bookable workshops and school activities taking place throughout.

 

How can I get a copy of the festival brochure?

You can download a copy of the brochure nearer the time of the festival. Alternatively, pick up a festival brochure from Dundee Science Centre a few weeks prior to the start of the festival.

 

How can I book tickets?

Please visit festival events nearer the time of events where more information can be found in the dedicated event listing. Most of our bookable events can be booked online, all bookable events can be booked by phoning us on 01382 228800.

 

Do you have any free events?

All events in community centres and shopping centres are free of charge. We ensure that most of our events are free so that anyone can enjoy our festival experience since we are an educational charity devoted to making science accessible and relevant to people of different ages and backgrounds. 

 

Where does the festival take place?

The festival takes place in Dundee Science Centre and different community hubs across Dundee such as Ardler Complex, Central Library, Douglas Community Centre, Kirkton Community Centre and Ninewells Hospital.

Do most events take place at Dundee Science Centre?

Although Dundee Science Centre leads the festival, we bring many of our events out to the community, where you can relax and enjoy your festival experience in informal public spaces.

How long do the events last?

Please visit festival events and see specific event pages for details prior to attending. Allow at least 1 hr for visits to one of our Family Fun Days.

 

How accessible are the venues?

Dundee Science Centre has accessible entrances and automated doors; accessible toilet facilities; access to all floors via lift; parking spaces by the entrance and welcomes guide dogs.

How can I get to the venue?

Dundee Science Centre is 5 minutes' walk away from the railway station and just minutes away from any city centre bus stop. Other Festival venues are accessible by bus. Plan your bus journey using Traveline Scotland.
