Schools Programme

This year, Dundee Science Festival is coming to Dundee schools! We are offering to run FREE school assemblies in Dundee schools during the two weeks of the festival.

Dundee Science Festival runs from Saturday 28 October to Sunday 12 November, celebrating STEM discovery, innovation and research. Primary and Secondary schools can book a school assembly with a choice of two themes:

  • Space Exploration: How do rockets work? What’s life like on the International Space Station? And how do astronauts go to the toilet in space?
  • Medical Technologies: What do our major organs do and how do we keep them healthy? What life-saving medical research is happening in Dundee? And how does keyhole surgery work?

Shows can last 30 to 45 minutes, and can be delivered to most sizes of school assembly. The available dates are:

  • Secondary schools: Monday 30 October to Friday 3 November
  • Primary schools: Monday 6 to Friday 10 November

Slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so get in touch early to find out more!

These assemblies are available free-of-charge due to support from Dundee City Council. Dundee Science Festival is brought to you by Dundee Science Centre in support of its aim to widen access to science learning. Abertay University’s Dundee Primary Schools Science Week also runs Monday 30 October to Friday 3 November.
